So, tonight, I was in a rather serious situation. Picture this…if you will…
There I was on a beautiful fall evening, enjoying the company of my internet friends of reddit. It was a pleasant evening, with the crisp smell of the leaves wafting in from the window on the south end of the house. All was quiet in the house with my husband away at a conference, and the children playing “Cold War” games in the basement. I heard sounds of the children’s Cold War migrating north of the house…then off to the west, BANG! I was being infiltrated by the spawn! The eldest of the troop held me at gun point, screaming outrageous demands. I calmly placed my status as “AFK”, and placed my keyboard on the coffee table. I generously offered ice cream as a peace offering, in order to save my life. Call me a sell out, call me a bad parent. I needed out of this situation, and fast. The small troop of 3 took the offer and stood down…but not for long. They were back, wielding their massive semi automatics, threatening my life while listing their ridiculous demands! Later Bed Times! More Make-up! Sugary Sweets!
I had no choice. I had to cave. If I wanted to continue living, I had to give them what they wanted. I negotiated with terrorists. I’m not proud of what I did, but I am alive today because of it.
In the end, the smallest of the troops settled with some bubble wrap. The middle trooper settled for more sweets and a later bed time. The eldest…she won it all…later bed time, the make-up, the candy…OHHH THE HORROR!!!
I do have to say though, as a parent of these terrorists, I did have a proud moment when the troops asked where the rope was to make a noose for her Lego man that was going on the Haunted Gingerbread House. I give you….a bloody masterpiece….
Went for a walk down to the park again. Here’s a shot of the gazeebo that my husband and I were married in!
The weather this past week has been incredible! I managed to catch this at the park.
Went for a drive today. We wanted to go get some nice fall pictures and enjoy the last of the nice weather. It ended up that everyone was kinda crabby and tired, so we went for a picnic in Hardisty and a short walk then went home.
Here’s a picture of the small lake at the campground there
I went to visit my Grandparents and Aunt that is visiting today. My Grandma has these vines growing on the back fence. They are hard not to miss this time of year. They turned a brilliant red colour and I had to get a photo. It was a quick shot as we were heading out back home..
Alright! Feeling pretty good today actually. Given how deathly I felt yesterday.
I managed to get this shot at the end of the day. I liked it…sort of a “Good Bye Summer…” photo.
